Data, analytics, and new technologies like artificial intelligence are changing the way we work. In the next few years, we’ll be seeing much more of this in health, safety, and wellbeing. It’s an exciting time but some way to go until this drastically changes occupational health in construction.

Some things we’ve been excited about:

  • The innovative hearing protection solution from eave, or a similar product from Honeywell.
  • The DEEE real-time monitor from pinsaar.
  • The Soter analytics device that will prevent ergonomic injuries.

These types of monitoring devices may not replace personal exposure monitoring completely but will definitely help our industry understand risk and be able to respond much quicker to the hazards around us.

When looking at wellbeing, one of the tools we’d always recommend is Britain’s healthiest workplace. It is a free employee needs assessment and benchmarking tool (as well as an opportunity to be crowned the healthiest workplace)!!

Without these devices, there is still plenty of data that should be considered when developing your health and wellbeing strategy.
