Jennie Armstrong,

Managing Director

With 17+ years working in health care and over 10 years in construction, Jennie founded Construction Health & Wellbeing Ltd after seeing a demand in the market for improving health and wellbeing programmes within the industry.  

She has worked on major projects including London 2012 Olympics, Crossrail and Tideway, in addition to working for an OH service provider and hygiene consultancy.  She is a registered general nurse, has an MSc in Occupational Health, a chartered member of IOSH and an Associate of the Faculty of Occupational Hygiene.

Jennie is currently the co-chair of the Breathe Freely Campaign for BOHS. a trustee for the British Safety Council and a member of the Health in Construction Leadership Group.  She is extremely passionate about demonstrating how much value health and wellbeing can bring to any organisation.  

Wendy Jones,

Occupational Health Specialist

Wendy Jones is an Occupational Health Specialist with substantial experience including healthcare, utilities and higher education. She is also a professional researcher with a doctorate in ergonomics and experience in qualitative methods (interviews, focus groups) and quantitative assessments using survey tools. Wendy has specific expertise in a range of topics in construction including occupational health provision in SMEs, shift working and fatigue, the health risks of nanomaterials, the use of simulations to improve worker training, and the costs to construction employers of occupational ill-health.  More info available at her LinkedIn below.

Steve Perkins,

Executive Coach

Steve is an Executive Coach working nationally and internationally in occupational health and safety. Prior to this he served as the first CEO of BOHS – the UK’s Chartered professional and awarding body for occupational hygiene. Steve led BOHS’ growth and its recognition within construction for the ground breaking Breathe Freely campaign.

He is an experienced business leader having worked in the private and charitable sectors as an exec and non-exec director and as a trustee. Originally trained as a physicist with an Oxford MA, Steve is a Chartered Director and a Fellow of the Institute of Directors and the Institute of Physics.

He is a regular conference speaker on workplace health and hygiene and is passionate about the benefits of tackling the burden of occupational disease in the construction sector.

Robert Manson,

Health, Safety and Wellbeing Specialist

Robert Manson is an independent Health Safety and Wellbeing specialist who provides consultancy services to a variety of international companies.

He is an experienced professional who has managed Occupational Health and Safety teams across the pharmaceutical, food retail and energy sectors. This included over 20 years experience in GlaxoSmithKline leading the Employee Health team in the UK as well as undertaking EHS audits globally.

He is a qualified Personal Development Coach, and has delivered and facilitated many leadership workshops globally in the areas of health and wellbeing, and personal energy management.

Robert has presented at international conferences and written several articles on the management of mental health, case management and workplace wellbeing programmes. He has been recognised with the Safety and Health at Work – European Good Practice Award.

He has a BSc in Occupational Health, an MSc in Health Ergonomics and a NEBOSH Diploma in Health, Safety and Environment.
